Abuse prevention and risk management training is mandatory for all those who work with children, youth, and/or vulnerable people as well as all who are in positions of trust and authority generally. This training helps us to create church communities that are safer and where we are better able to meaningfully care for one another and those in the wider community. Bishop Sanra wrote of this in her pastoral letter "A Call for a Safer Church" in November of 2024.
While this training can take many forms, the two primary training requirements in our diocese are Safe Faith Training and Diocesan Sexual Misconduct Policy Training. These are both online training modules, and you can sign up to be registered for them here.
