You may have noticed someone new in our diocesan office! As of January 23 Leah Marshall has joined the staff team in a half time capacity to cover Allie Clop’s maternity leave in serving Youth and Family Ministry in our Diocese.
Leah grew up as a shepherd in the prairies and has spent the last several years working in youth and campus ministry at the University of Alberta, Augustana campus and in serving at HTB church in central London, UK. She served two terms on the PWRDF youth council as representative for the ecclesiastical province of Ruperts Land and is excited to now be serving in family and youth ministry in the NSPEI diocese.
As she is on half time, her focus for the coming year will primarily be on supporting the Community Roots program, the VSST council, SafeR church and ShareNSPEI training courses, the diocesan youth conference, CLAY, Say Yes to Kids, and youth at synod.
This spring preparations are well underway to welcome the youth representatives at Synod, with an online gathering/info session in the coming month for any who may be considering being a delegate. We are also beginning to advertise for the Program Administrator Position for our Community Roots summer program. Community Roots applications for parishes will open in February. Further details coming soon!
If you have any questions or are seeking youth and family ministry support, Leah is working in office Monday to Wednesday and can be contacted at youthandfamily@nspeidiocese.ca
