Dear Friends,

The Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, is quoted as saying “change is the only constant in life.” Over the past few years, so much about our working and daily lives has changed that it is hard to recall 'normal.' I am writing today to share with you another change in our Diocesan Offices.

This past week, Bishop Sandra received the resignation of our Financial Controller, Christopher Veach. This resignation was effective March 23, 2022. The staff have taken the days since receiving this news to evaluate and strategize how we might best go forward. Together, we wish Chris every blessing in his future endeavours.

In light of this news, there will be some changes in our communications strategy. Please note the following:

     1. Contact Patrick Pearse at ppearse@nspeidiocese.ca regarding:

              Vendor and External Clients

              Parish Mailboxes

      2. Contact Tammy Cummins at tcummins@nspeidiocese.ca regarding:

              PAR

              Payroll and Benefits (information transfer)

         3. Contact Peter Flemming at pflemming@nspeidiocese.ca regarding:

              Insurance Administration

              Audit

         4. Contact Rev’d Ann Turner at executivedirector@nspeidiocese.ca regarding:

              Canons and Constitution

              HR and Administration

All non-banking, finance and administration concerns

For any other issues or items, to help streamline communications and to assure that our staff continue to be able to focus on their portfolios, we are asking that any inquiries about parish finances be directed to the following email: info.finance@nspeidiocese.ca. You will be redirected to this address if requests come through other channels.

In the near future, following our Diocesan SafeR Church protocols, we will complete a Position Audit and an evaluation of the Financial Controller position. We have a strong Finance team here in the Diocesan offices, supported by an equally strong volunteer base in our Financial Management and Development VSST. And, as people of faith, I am quick to call to mind the words of Psalm 39 (NRSV): “And now, O Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in you.”

Hope is our companion as we move into change. Let me take this opportunity to thank you all for your prayers of support as we work to meet your needs in the diocese.

In shared ministry,

The Reverend Ann Turner
