St George’s Round Church is hosting a benefit concert at 7PM on Monday, February 10 in support of the Cree Church in northern Saskatchewan. The concert will feature performances from local musicians, each of whom have their own special connections with Saskatchewan: Karis Tees, Thomas McCallum, and Matthew Vanderkwaak.

Free admission. A reception will follow after the concert in the Church Hall.

This benefit coincides with the visit of three priests - Fr Brody Albers, Fr Eugene Merasty, and Fr Jordan Draper - from the Diocese of Saskatchewan, and there will be an invitation to give financially toward an exciting undertaking of the Church.

The Diocese of Saskatchewan is producing a short-to-medium length film to assist in the task of catechesis. It will provide those preparing to receive the Sacrament of Baptism and Confirmation with a resource that can be accessible to anyone who has an internet connection. This video will also serve as an introduction to the Church into which we are baptized, and it will extend this welcome from the distinct perspective of the indigenous Church. The production of a beautiful and compelling film is costly, but the result will be a useful and edifying gift for the whole Church.
