Facing what the now famous Canadian Charles Taylor calls the immanent frame - or what others describe as a closed cultural frame - is essential for churches today because it names the crisis and worldview most people now live inside: a world where faith is not assumed, transcendence is optional, and religious claims must make sense within everyday experience. Unless Anglican parishes and mission communities understand this shift, they risk speaking a language people can no longer hear where mission becomes impossible. By honestly engaging with the immanent frame rather than ignoring or resisting it, churches can rediscover why mission must be hospitable and grounded in genuine contextual encounter, and why community must be meaningful rather than merely inherited. Recognizing this cultural reality allows churches to renew themselves, becoming more open, authentic, and spiritually compelling - fit for service in the 21st century and genuinely responsive to the needs and questions of the people around them.

The conference will include times of prayer and reflection, along with facilitated group conversations that encourage deeper interaction and participation. This year, we are introducing technology compatible with Zoom to make it easier for everyone to engage more fully and contribute to the conference.
