Parade

Please join the Proud Anglicans team at this year’s Halifax Pride Parade!  We will be walking and will also have a half-ton truck for those who’d like to participate by riding. The parade route (2.5km) is different this year (https://www.halifaxpride.com/news/2022/4/28/new-parade-route-announced), and the parade begins at 12:00 noon. We will gather at the Citadel Community Center/High School grounds, entering at the checkpoint on Trollop Street by 11:00am, July 16th, when the street closures begin. There is no parking at the gathering grounds. Parade Entry Number is 19.  We will communicate that number to you via as many sources as possible (email, Facebook, word of mouth, etc.). If you signal your interest in participating by sending an email to me (jane.magrath@gmail.com), I’ll be able to be in direct contact with you about the details.

What to bring/wear:

The parade runs rain or shine, so please keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress accordingly.  Wear comfy shoes and bright clothing – friends from the National Proud Anglicans are encouraging clergy to wear dark clergy shirts with their white collars so that they are immediately recognizable as clergy to onlookers.  Bring water and sunscreen and sunhats.  Bring church banners and rainbow flags and supplies to decorate the truck.

Worship With Pride Outdoor Service

Please join us for a Special outdoor Pride Service on the steps of the Cathedral of All Saints. This service will begin at 4:00pm on Sunday July 17th, Bishop Sandra will preside, and the Rev’d Ann Turner will preach.  The service is designed by the Worshop with Pride (WWP) team.
